We got to see our baby again today on the ultrasound. Incredible. It went from looking like a little mouse with a heartbeat the size of the tip of a pen - to a real life baby in one month. This baby, who I will refer to as him, just because I have to say he looks like a boy - so far. He is a real human baby. He has arms and legs and hands and fingers and he uses them! He was dancing and squirming and kicking like he is trying to break outta there! His little hands and fingers kept moving up to his face and he would rest them on his mouth like he was kissing his palms.
I've never been more fascinated. It is absolutely amazing what the human body can do. Mothers have attempted to explain to me the feelings you get when you are bonding with your baby, but there is no way to significantly put into words the feelings that you feel toward your growing baby. I've never loved like this before - it is all so new to me.
I do have a picture of the little guy, but I'm opting not to share just yet. Because he is ours and its feels a bit too special to put online, for now.
